With nearly thirty years of practice, Leland views the martial arts as quite literally “arts”, especially in a world dominated by the influence of competitive sports. His experiences over the years have helped to shape his approach to the martial arts and to life in general, and this brief work provides an insight into some of the lessons learned and the resulting non-competitive approach to the arts, and in some cases their spiritual aspects. This work is neither a training manual nor a biography, but simply a brief exposé that might provide “food for thought”.
